Do You Have the Key of Favor?
God's wants His favor to come upon our lives so we can accomplish His purposes for our lives. Favor is God's special affection toward you, that releases an influence on you, so that others are inclined to like you or cooperate with you.
Favor - friendly regard shown toward another; especially by a superior, approving consideration or attention, gracious kindness; an act of such kindness, a token of love, to be a greatly beloved of God, the supernatural power of influence through you.
Favor is God's attraction to you. One of the definitions of the Hebrew word translated "favor" is "goodwill." The anointing puts the force of favor upon us. God puts His favor, by the anointing, on those whose hearts are in pursuit of Him, i.e. Abraham, Moses, David, Hannah, Daniel, Joseph, Ruth, Esther, Jacob, Mary, Elizabeth, the early church. "The anointing separates you from yourself." (Oral Roberts). The anointing gets you away from yourself so you can demonstrate the Kingdom of God to all men. God can then reflect Himself through you. "Favor is better than silver and gold." (Proverbs 22:1).
What happens when favor is in operation?
1. Favor is the inclination to like. When people like you, they're feeling God's affection toward you. This is what happened between David and Saul (before Saul became jealous of David).
2. The power of favor causes people to move with you instead of against you.
3. You will not have great favor until you have a good quality of enemies.
4. God puts His favor, by the anointing, on those whose hearts are in pursuit of Him. The moment the anointing came on David, favor also came. God saw something in David ... his heart!
"Now God granted Daniel favor (loving kindness) and compassion in the sight of the commander of the officials" (Daniel 1:9). Daniel was 14 years old when taken from his family, brought to Babylon and became the vice-president of a nation that was not of his people. There was a spirit of attraction and affection on Daniel's life, just like Esther, Joseph, and David. We need to learn how to walk with a spirit of favor before God and man.
God was with Joseph and gave him favor and wisdom. The anointing not only promotes, but also gives you access to the God-head and gives you the supernatural ability to deliver the good when you get promoted. "And the patriarchs, moved with envy, sold Joseph into Egypt; but God was with him, And delivered him out of all his afflictions, and gave him favor and wisdom in the sight of Pharaoh king of Egypt; and he made him governor over Egypt and all his house" (Acts 7:9&10).
Esther did not take a lot of "extra stuff" with her into the king's presence, only what Hegai advised. She simplified her life. "Found favor with Hegai, who was in charge of the women (virgins) who were brought before the king as the potential next queen. He gave her 7 maids and transferred her and the maids to the best place in the harem" (Esther 2:9). The women went from the king to the second harem, from a virgin to a concubine, never to go into the king again unless she was summoned by name. Esther found favor in the eyes of all who saw her, she found favor and kindness in the sight of the king more than any of the virgins (Esther 2:15&17).
